Answer: The Himalayan Values is a digital platform by Mountain Organic Products Private Limited to offer healthy and nutritious food products to its customers. It also provides a space for young mountain farmers and agri-entrepreneurs especially women of the Himalayan region to showcase and market their organic and natural agri- produce.

Question 2: What is Mountain Organic Produce Private Limited (MOPPL)?

Answer: MOPPL works to promote and sustain the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and agri- entrepreneurs of the Himalayas by marketing their produce. Mountain farmers often work in isolation, in difficult terrains without proper technical, financial or structural assistance. The Himalayan Values aims to put forward their hard work on a digital platform in an attempt to create a sustainable living out of agriculture.

Question 3: Who are the Agri- Entrepreneurs/ Producers linked with The Himalayan Values?

Answer: The produce of local mountain farmers primarily women is converted into a range of products in the processing units at village Chinoni, Chaukhutia under the brand ‘The Himalayan Values.’

The online platform also supports another farmer owned brand called ‘Ramganga Roots’. The brand belongs to mountain farmers cum agri- entrepreneurs using locally grown produce to make high quality products in the Kumaon and Garhwal region of Uttarakhand Himalayas. All the processing units function as village level micro- entrepreneurial units and undertake activities ranging from processing, packaging and labelling to marketing.

Question 4: What are the products sold under the label of The Himalayan Values?

Answer: The Himalayan Values offer a wide range of Certified Organic and Natural products. The products range from Cereals, Pulses, Millets, Spices to Pickles and Ready to Eat Products made from locally produced and procured bio- resources of the Himalayan region. A wide range of beverages from Fruit concentrates to home processed Tea and spices are on offer as well. The range is being continually expanded.

Question 5: Where are the manufacturing facilities located?

Answer: The manufacturing units are located at the village level in the Kumaon and Garhwal region of Uttarakhand operated and managed by local farmers and entrepreneurs.

The manufacturing unit of Mountain Organic Products Ltd is located in village Chinoni, tehsil Chaukhutia, district Almora Uttarakhand.

Question 6: Are these products chemical free?

Answer: Absolutely! High altitude villages in the mountain regions traditionally practice chemical free agriculture with usage of organic pest control methods. This creates a symbiotic relation between the producers and the local environment. With The Himalayan Values, we cherish and promote the same relationship of our mountain farmers.

Question 7: Do these units have a FSSAI registration number and SCOPE certificate?

Answer: Yes. Manufacturing units under the brand ‘The Himalayan Values’ are registered under FSSAI and have a SCOPE certificate. The village level micro processing units under brand ‘Ramganga Roots’ have their own FSSAI registration.

Question 8: Are products available here made in the mountains?

Answer: Yes. All the products promoted under The Himalayan Values are produced, processed and packed by women farmers and agri- entrepreneurs at the village level home based or small processing units in clean and hygienic environments. Stringent safety, hygiene and sanitation standards are maintained along with legal requirements, certifications, compliances to GMP and other measures.

Answer: The Himalayan Values offers an exclusive range of highly nutritional mountain products ranging from whole grains to ready to eat and beverage category. The products are made in home based and micro units in the pristine environment of Uttarakhand Himalayas without any chemical additives.
